Ironman Lake Placid Check-in

Lake Placid...

We have a strong crew representing Team Bikeway.com up at IM Lake Placid this weekend. Tony Tanzi, Carly Cooper-Johnson, Kim Hettwer, Matt Kane, Mario Zumbo, Stuart Weitzma, John Barti and George Prisco will take the line on Sunday.  Below are George and Mario giving us some updates on how things are up there.

George Prisco @ Packet Pick-up

George Prisco:

"The weather has been beautiful, cool and sunny. This morning, the temp dipped into the high 40's!
Swam in Mirror Lake this morning - just a spectacular place to swim.
Placid is literally crawling with triathletes - feeling right at home.
As usual, my hope is to finish in the daylight Sunday - and have a blast doing it."


Mario Zumbo:

"Just got back from having a great dinner with George and his family tonight. There is so much positive energy here at Placid, you walk by other athletes, and you both smile at each other...like you both know this is what it's all about!

Training went well, put in a lot more high intensity workouts in then usual. Did a swim and a 30 min run today. Tomorrow is rest day, as for Sunday, I always have a laid back attitude. I like to come in before nightfall, and last year I did (8:22pm). So this year 13 hours (8pm) would be great, but whatever happens, I take it all in and have fun with it. I enjoy the day, and feel thankful that I can even do this!"
