Featured Athlete Colin Martin

Colin has been training a lot gearing up for some long races this year with one of them being IM Arizona. Here is his race report about trying something new --- a 100k MTB race last month.

Wilmington Whiteface - 100k Mountain Bike Race

Top 3 hardest races for me thus far have been 1) American Zofingen Long Course , 2) Ironman Florida, and I am now adding # 3 to the list...... The Wilmington Whiteface 100k Mtn Bike Race and Leadville qualifier which I completed last weekend.  With about 10,000-11,000 ft of climbing in about 65 miles (the course is a little longer) you certainly get your money worth ($115) .  The race consisted of part road, part jeep trails, and some single track mtn bike trails and finished on one of the most grueling climbs I have ever experiences, straight up Whiteface Mountain.

For those of you who are looking for a challenge outside the world of triathlon or road biking..... this is something for you to try... The race is a test on your mental toughness.
