Lukas has decided to take the plunge and pursue his dream of representing Slovakia in international and Olympic triathlon full time. Good luck Lukas - we wish you all the best!
Below are his parting words.
Farewell
I have said it many times before, but I’m so thankful that I was able to be part of the Bikeway team. Goodbyes so many times can be bittersweet, and this time is no different. I’m really excited for the what the future may hold, but at the same time I’m really sad to leave all the great people that I was able to form friendships with behind. May the friendships never end!
So where am I going and what am I doing? I have a one-way flight booked to Slovakia on the 15th of this month. I have a joined a triathlon (Realiz Sport team) club that is based out of Bratislava, which is the capital. The team has several solid athletes which includes a 2008 Olympian in triathlon. The plan is to teach English part time to kids, while training full time. It was a tough decision to make, but I truly feel it was the right decision. I have dedicated so many years of my life to sport, I have come to a point where I either just quit and move on or try to pursue my athletic goals and dreams the right way. When you go after something you can’t be spread thin, which I felt I have been. As always I wish everyone all the best, and would love to stay in touch.
-Lukas
