Another great weekend for Team Bikeway.com!
Noah's Ride: The predicted showers never materialized on Sunday and we had a great day and a great ride for a great cause. It was amazing to see so many Team Bikeway.com kits and jerseys out there (including on Bikeway Prez Dennis Decker who did the 20 mile course on the highroller, losing some rubber off his shoe-soles in the process when braking on the downhills!!). Thanks again to everyone who participated and volunteered! We hope to continue to grow this signature event, so plan to join us again next year!
Tymor Challenge MTB Race: Another great and tough mountain bike race put on by our own Tim Schopen and Eastern Sports Promotions! Thanks to Bikeway staff and team members John and Russ for manning the Bikeway stand.
Inaugural Northern Dutchess Hospital Du and Triathlon:
Wow! Another awesome showing by our team! In the Duathlon, Zuri Wilson and Mike Tanzi led everyone home to first place finishes overall for women and men, respectively, with Lori Cassia-Decker and Maria Bocchinis also putting up high overall finishes and each winning their respective age groups!
In the Triathlon, Shawn Jackson showed 'em how its done, winning the overall by almost 90 seconds! Eye-witness reports described "shark-like" swimming prowess and some seriously fast transitions. And in only his second tri ever, Tony Tanzi posted a third overall to also put himself on the podium in the men's race. Also putting in awesome performances and representing for Team Bikeway.com were Jay Murray and Londina Cruz. We are so proud of you all!!
And thanks also to the too-numerous to mention Team Bikeway.com team members and staff who lent their support and volunteered at the race to give Bikeway a tremendous presence both on and off the race course. It looks like the race, in only its first year, was well attended, so thanks so much for helping to put the Bikeway name and Team Bikeway.com out there and starting a great relationship between our team and the race right from the start.
Columbia Triathlon - Olympic Distance: Our fearless leader Justin Harris went down to Ellicott MD to test himself against some of the best in the Olympic distance and came up with a 4th place finish in the Elite Amateur men's division - besting some serious pro's in the process. Awesome result Justin!
Syracuse Omnium: Andy Nasca avoided the crash and finished high up in the Cat 3's in Saturday's crit, but suffered a dropped chain in Sunday's road race and spent the rest of the day chasing. Now he's fully prepared for the ITT at this weekend's Killington Stage Race! Good job finishing it out!
Hopefully I didn't miss anyone - let me know if I did ASAP! And please, if anyone is interested, e-mail me a race report and I'll post them up!
