It's Christmas. And somehow, about 4 lbs of Lindt chocolate candies have materialized in our house, which will do nothing favorable for me in my preparation for the 2011 racing season. As counter-incentive to just sitting around and eating bon-bons, Santa brought me some new bike parts of the fast and shiny persuasion, which means to do them justice I'd better ramp up the training quick to burn off the chocolate and then some. I'd been doing well, getting in 5-6 days on the trainer a week, then a couple of weekends ago we attended our 5 year old nephew's birthday party, and my non-kid-prepared immune system failed me, knocking me off the bike for a week. Back on the bike for a few days now, and nearly up to feeling like I have full lung capacity again, so here we go. I am pretty excited for a new season, and hope you all are too.
Hoping to post up some 2011 Team Bikeway.com info soon. Any questions, comments, recommendations or ideas for 2011, including any leads on potential sponsors, drop me an e-mail at audrey@bikeway.com.
In the meantime, don't forget to join us for trainer nights, Mondays in Mahopac at 6:30 and Wednesdays in Wappingers at 7:00. Call ahead to reserve a spot, and come a few minutes early to get your bike on a trainer.
And as long as its still above 15-20 degrees, we are out on knobby tires on Saurday mornings from Wappingers. Shoot me an e-mail the night before to see if we're planning on heading out.
