Weekend Results

Putnam Tri-n-Du
Yea Team Bikeway.com! Zuri Wilson won the women's overall in the duathlon (by over 5 minutes!) and Lukas Siska was 1st overall in the tri, with Shawn Jackson taking third overall. We also had a bunch of A/G firsts: Mark Andrews, David Fernekes and Lori Cassia Decker. And Mark DeLuccia, Vinni Shek, Kevin Gallagher, Peter Oxenholm, Jay Murray and Vic Ruiz were 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 11th and 13th in their age groups, respectively. Great job all! Thanks for representing Team Bikeway.com, we are proud of you!

Pawling Mountain Road Race
Carlos Fonseca lined up for the Cat 4 race, finishing two laps of the punishing course in 70th out of 90+ starters, and Mike Tanzi and Eric Eckley represented team Bikeway in the Cat 4/5 race in the morning wave, finishing 20th and 34th, respectively, out of 62 starters. Audrey Scott raced the 1/2/3 women's race in the afternoon, finishing 1st of 19 starters.

Brooklyn Grand Prix:
Unfortunately Declan Nicholls pulled a Lance on Saturday and went down when the guy in front of him panicked and locked up his brakes (no big damage, thankfully), but Herbert Miller (who got a good view of the crash) came away unscathed and had fun in his first race. Donald Higgins mixed it up with the Cat 4s, spending some face time at the pointy end of the race for a bit but got pushed back when the big teams organized at the front for the finish sprint. If anyone is interested in joining these guys for the last 2 races of the Kissena Sports series (there's another one next week and I believe the final race is August 14) let Audrey know and she'll put you in touch with Declan for more info and maybe some carpooling. It would be great to have a bigger Bikeway presence in Brooklyn for the last race in August!
