Team Bikeway.com June 12-13 Weekend

We've had another great weekend at Team Bikeway.com!

Declan Nicholls and Donald Higgins went down to Brooklyn to represent us in the Tour of New York road race, with Declan pulling off an awesome 8th place in the Cat 5 race, and Donald finishing top 20 in the Cat 4s! Great job!

We also had a significant number of team members participate in the Treetops to Rooftops 5k on Saturday, which went across the Walkway Over the Hudson. 494 people participated and I recognized the following team members on the results list: Mark DeLuccia, Mark Andrews, Dave Fernekes, Maria Bochinis, Lori Cassia Decker and Vinni Schek. Let me know if I missed anyone!

And on Sunday, Zuri Wilson placed 1st overall for the women in the first race of the NY Biathlon Series down at Harriman Park, which has a killer bike course. Congrats Zuri! Her race report follows.

Coming up this weekend:

Saturday June 19th - Bikeway girlZ only ride, 8:05 AM from the Wappingers shop.
Regular group ride as usual, too.

Also on Saturday, June 19th, is the 9th Annual Pat Griskus USAT Northeast Regional Championship Olympic Distance in Middlebury, Ct at the Quassy Amusement Park. Our own Shawn Jackson will be competing. Good luck Woodsy!

Saturday, June 19th is also the Inaugural Beacon Biathlon, with all proceeds going to the continued revitalization of Beacon's Historic Main Street District.

Sunday, June 20th is the Housatonic Hills Road Race in Southbury CT. Team Bikeway.com members Justin Harris, Carlos Fonseca, Eric Eckley, Declan Nicholls, Akil Sutton and Audrey Scott will be racing this long-standing race, which has a tough and hilly course and an uphill sprint finish.

If anyone else has something planned for the weekend, send me an e-mail and I'll post it up.

Also don't forget that next Sunday the 27th is the inaugural Hopewell Triathlon, where we hope to see as many Team Bikeway.com members as possible either volunteering or racing.

Finally, our "meet the team" potluck bbq is a go for July 10th. However, we need to know that enough of us will be able to attend to make it worthwhile for us to get together for a little food, fun and team stuff, since we want to see everybody! Families welcome too! As vacation season approaches, I know many of will be very busy. Please send me an e-mail at audrey@bikeway.com as soon as you can if you will be able to attend, so we can begin to plan accordingly.
